Tell us about the artwork you are submitting. What makes it unique?

"But I Loved You…" explores dealing with oneself after a loved one has slipped through your fingers. It’s someone meaning so much to you and not getting a chance to profess their importance in your life, until after they’re gone. They’re gone for probably forever.

What makes "But I Loved You..." so unique is that is derivative of a real-life heartbreaking dream and that it is hand drawn and animated.

Tell us about yourself. How did you come to be an artist in video/digital media?

I am a visual artist first who found themselves wanting to take their practice a bit further with my visuals. This has also led select art being adapted into gifs and stickers: giphy.com/izosceles

“Oracle” by Nancy Sepe

Tell us about the artwork. What makes it unique?

Oracle is a portrait of a person participating in an eternal cycle of being seen and not seen. Along with the primary/initial figure without decoration, the sequence includes the persona of the anonymous subject—with blacked out eyes; a body whose head has been replaced by an orange, two-dimensional circle; in the guise of Cellini’s Perseus clutching the head of Medusa; and finally as a wild animal, primal, expressing herself. She is on infinite display to an audience below. The piece is unique in that it combines traditional and contemporary media to express a surreal narrative.”

“I've been studying time-based media since an undergraduate student at Alfred University. I then moved on to receive an MFA in digital media with a focus on animation. I am also a sculptor, and incorporate video into my three dimensional work.
