In May of 2017, after 6 years in Framingham, MA, Fountain Street relocated to Boston’s SoWa Arts District. Our new location provides member artists with greater exposure in Boston, and an opportunity to expand their collector base while growing within an existing vibrant artistic community. Boston allows us to build upon Fountain Street’s strong reputation as a showcase of high-caliber art in all media by some of the region’s best emerging artists. Exhibitions are well-attended due to our location in the heart of the SoWa Arts district, drawing visitors with monthly 1st Fridays and weekly summer and holiday markets. Local press such as Artscope and The Boston Globe regularly cover gallery events. Fountain Street actively promotes exhibitions on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, as well as on its website and blog.
Fountain Street is a collaborative artist run gallery and has three levels of membership, with benefits and responsibilities designed to fit with artists at different points in their careers and development. Membership is juried at all levels. There is no fee to apply; application is competitive, and artists are not guaranteed acceptance.
Core members exhibit in a two-person show every 24-36 months in the main gallery, participate in the annual Core member group show, and have the opportunity to sell art via our online storefront. Core members are active participants in daily operations and decision-making.
Applications are accepted in June.
Associate members benefit from online access to selling work on our online storefront, as well as participation in one Associate group show a year in the main gallery. This is a low residency membership, so there is no gallery sitting or gallery task required.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
Annex members each receive one 3-person show in our Annex gallery space. This level of membership is specifically geared to emerging artists seeking gallery experience and exposure in the Boston area.
Applications are accepted in October.
