Confluence
Fountain Street Artist Members Exhibition Curated by Tracy Spadafora
Southborough History & Arts Center at Fayville Hall
October 30, 2026–January 3, 2027
Confluence marks the meeting point of distinct creative paths, where individual perspectives, experiences, and artistic practices come together. Featuring a selection of participating Fountain Street Artist Members, this contemporary group exhibition explores how separate traditions, personal histories, and approaches to making intersect, overlap, and find common ground in a shared space.
About the Exhibition
Across painting, photography, and mixed media, the works in Confluence reflect a range of materials, processes, and visual languages. Each artist brings a unique perspective shaped by personal experiences, individual interests, and ongoing creative explorations. In dialogue with one another, these distinct approaches create unexpected connections and points of resonance, revealing how meaning can shift and expand when individual works are experienced collectively.
Like rivers converging, the creative practices represented in Confluence retain their individual character while contributing to a larger, evolving whole. The exhibition invites viewers to consider the relationship between individuality and community, difference and connection, and the many ways personal stories contribute to our shared contemporary experience.

Currents & Convergence
These works explore movement and change through flowing forms, shifting light, and the rhythms of the natural world. Whether through abstraction or photographic observation, water and weather become more than subjects: they suggest the passage of time, the instability of perception, and the continual exchange between forces that shape a landscape.
Presence & Interior Worlds
Moving between observed reality and the imagined, these works consider how we inhabit spaces, encounter others, and construct meaning from our surroundings. Figures, interiors, and suggestive environments become sites of psychological presence, where the familiar can feel intimate, mysterious, or unexpectedly transformed.
Fragments & Associations
Built through the layering, rearranging, and recontextualizing of images and materials, these works bring disparate elements into new relationships. Fragments of architecture, everyday life, organic forms, and familiar references become open-ended narratives. Meaning emerges through inviting viewers to connect separate visual clues and consider how experience is remembered, altered, and reconstructed.
