Deborah Drummond
Playful Geometry
Deborah Drummond’s paintings and mixed media works explore the relationships between color, shape, rhythm, and visual discovery. Working across multiple media, she creates layered compositions in which unexpected marks, textures, colors, and forms continually find their way into the work. The movement between media is an essential part of her process, allowing visual surprises to emerge.
Her compositions balance structure with spontaneity. Geometric forms, organic shapes, painted passages, and unique monoprinted papers come together in lively arrangements that invite the eye to move, pause, and discover.

About the Work
With a nod to the timelessness of mid-century art and design, Drummond creates layered compositions that explore the visual possibilities of color, shape, and space. Her work considers how these elements can shift in relationship to one another, creating compositions that feel both familiar and unexpected.
Working across paint, collage, and monoprinted unique papers, she welcomes the visual surprises that emerge from moving between media. She approaches these interactions with control and intention while maintaining an element of play, allowing each work to develop through both careful decisions and discovery.
The resulting compositions are energetic yet considered, balancing structure with spontaneity.
