C. Clinton

Cheryl Clinton’s most recent body of work – the Intuitive Navigation Series – seeks insight into intuitive memory and time’s passing. She relates the rhythms and patterns of changing seasons to the evolution of her personal life. In past collections –Tree Light, Woodland Water, Water, and Mixed Media Series – she has incrementally recreated shifting shadow and light-play at moments of different seasons. Clinton admits she is still in the midst of achieving a more complete understanding of her process, painting with a vantage of mystery, some formed realizations, and flexible interpretation.

Clinton was educated at the Massachusetts College of Art, and University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, as well as New York University and institutions in Greece and Italy. Among other professional positions, she has worked as an art mentor and public relations coordinator. She founded Fountain Street Studios in 1998, and continues as curator and advisor to Fountain Street Gallery, which she co-founded in 2011. Beginning in 1993, Clinton has featured her work at exhibitions and galleries predominantly in Massachusetts. Her work is included in private and corporate collections nationally and abroad. She works from her studio in Holliston, MA.
