Collaborative Dreamscapes by Scout Austin and Kellie Weeks

This collaborative project was inspired by a recent exhibit by William Kentridge at ICA Boston. Deciding to try something different from their individual practices, the artists pinned large pieces of paper to the studio walls and began to draw with charcoal and pastel. After about five or ten minutes they switched and began to draw on each other’s drawing . . . and continued on in this way until they felt the drawings were complete. Through this collaboration, the artists arrive collectively at what Kellie likes to call a “dreamscape”. The drawings are visions of inner worlds that tap into the unconscious of each artist.
